A PROPOSED emission-related congestion charge would increase pollution and traffic, according to a report commissioned by Land Rover.

The study by the Centre for Economics and Business Research looks at the impact of London Mayor Ken Livingstone’s plans to increase the capital’s congestion charge for the most polluting vehicles to £25. The report said the £25 toll on the highest CO2 polluters was ‘a risky white elephant’.

Transport for London said it was not surprised a report commissioned by Land Rover came out against charging cars. (Autowired: October 18).
