A NEW management team has been established at National Car Rental in the UK to ‘drive growth’ following its acquisition by Europcar earlier this year.

John Leigh, formerly head of the National UK business, has been appointed managing director of the combined organisation and Marie Barry, who previously headed Europcar in the UK, has taken up the role of deputy managing director.

Leigh said: ‘The Europcar and National brands help thousands of UK motorists every day, whether travelling for business or leisure. Marie and I have considerable hands-on experience, as well as a driving enthusiasm, to continue to raise the standards for our customers.’

He now has responsibility for a UK fleet of almost 50,000 vehicles and a combined UK network of over 270 locations. (Fleetnews.co.uk/Fleetworldgroup.co.uk: October 19).
